Our assignment was to provide a high level ICT architecture proposal for a new building homing LBL and independent units. The scope encompassed LAN and WAN infrastructure, Telephony, Remote Infrastructure Management, Client Access Devices, VPN, Local Services and Application Delivery, Information Security, AAA, and Business Continuity.
Our proposal covered Internet connection for web browsing and VPN, electricity supply to comms rooms, design of logical LAN and a layered security model; specification of suitable type and quantities of digital and analogue tel lines; specification redundant routers and firewalls, backbone and distribution switches, NAC appliances, IP telephony system, blade servers, SAN, near-line and off-line date storage, plasma displays, printers, UPS units, operating systems and server applications.
Following our report we were assigned to provision ICT equipment and to project-manage the implementation of Internet connectivity, telephony lines and electricity supply to the comms rooms. We designed and implemented Active Directory, multiple VLANs, and ACLs. We installed and configured operating systems and applications.
The project has been successfully completed and handed over on time and within the agreed budget.
